Participate in our Rotary Wetland Education Grant!
Join us after the May 28 meeting
to sample and map the Mill River water quality

Our grant to the 5th grade at Pine Grove Elementary School, Rowley, is near completion. Join fellow Rotarians - Ann Witzig, John Witzig, and Doug Shealy, to sample the water quality, measure GPS locations for our map, and learn about wetlands, river health, and our critical water supply.
We will drive to the upper watershed at Pingree Farm Conservation Land to sample a beautiful beaver pond. Next location will be the Mill River behind Doug Shealy's house, then the bridge (see in the photo above) of the Mill River at Wethersfield St. We will also take a water quality measurement at the adjacent Batchelder Brook, a now polluted stream containing runoff from the many businesses along Route 1.
We conclude at the Glen Street bridge (photo below), just above the estuary.

No experience necessary! Just dress for the weather (rain or shine) and enjoy learning more about our critical water supply.
