The Ipswich-Rowley Rotary Club presented scholarships to eleven 2021 High School graduates from Ipswich and Rowley on June 8.

Graduates received $500 or $1,000.  Since planning began during pandemic restrictions, the traditional presentations at a club meeting were not possible and the club arranged a special outdoor event to ensure safety.  We are grateful to our hard working Scholarship Committee, led by Sr Leonore Coan, and for the great weather.

Again this year, the event took place in front of Ipswich High School.  Accompanied by their families, the students were recognized with a large sign displaying his or her name in calligraphy print.  On hand to congratulate them were members of the scholarship committee and club leadership.

This year’s recipients from Ipswich (along with their schools and fields of study) are:

Audrey Berger (Boston College, Biology)
Sandra Colameta (Massachusetts College of Art and Design)
Carrie Corder (UMass Amherst, Environmental Science)
Rowen Galanis (Connecticut College, Environmental Studies)
Samantha Orroth (UMass Amherst, Nursing)
Angelina Rix (Endicott College, Interior Architecture)
Rowan Silva (University of Nebraska at Kearney, Sports Management)
Lauren Whynott (Westfield State, Criminal Justice)

The recipients from Rowley are:

Alexandra Flodman (Endicott College, Elementary Education)
Sarah Harrington (Notre Dame, Mechanical and Bio Engineering)
Haley Morland (St. Laurence University, Pre-Veterinary)

Congratulating the students from the Scholarship Committee, were Chris Bevilacqua, Chair Sr. Leonore Coan, club President Martha Mauser, Peter Pinciaro, and Nat Pulsifer.  Dr. Rich Seltenrich was unable to attend the daytime activity.

Other Ipswich-Rowley Board members participating were: Ray Morley, Julie Nelson, Lisa Shanko, and Cushing Titcomb,.
